The new color has appeared in the pre-installed Engineering Mode app that is available within OxygenOS custom ROM. Though, no confirmation has been given by OnePlus regarding when and where this variant would be available or if it will be available soon or not. It may be released across all existing markets or certain limited regions.
One of the senior forum members of the XDA Developers discovered the Gray Ash variant while analyzing the latest version of the Engineering Mode App within OxygenOS.
The app carries strings that highlight the colors where it included the third option, alongside Blue Marble and Gray Onyx. This app came into the limelight back in 2017.
Though this is not the first time that we are hearing about this third variant. OnePlus, in one of its teasers had hinted at a total of 4 color variants of this model. Also, a tipster named Evan Blass had leaked a slide suggesting the same.
Though the 6GB + 64GB models will only be available in Gray Onyx colour.
The OnePlus Nord
OnePlus entered back into the mid-tier segment by launching the OnePlus Nord. It will cost you Rs. 24,999 for the 64GB Gray variant with 6GB of RAM.
You can buy the 128GB storage and 8GB RAM version for Rs. 27,999 while the top-most tier with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM can be yours for Rs. 29,999. Nord might be the answer to the questions raised after the somewhat failure of the 8 series.
The specs on the Nord were confirmed as below:
Snapdragon 765G SoC (5G enabled) 2.4 GHz
6/8/12 GB RAM
64/128/256 GB storage
Color variants: Blue and Gray
4,115 MaH battery with warp charge 30T
Quad camera back set-up (48 MP wide F 1.75 1/2′ Sony IMX sensor, 8 MP 119-degrees ultra-wide, 5 MP depth shooter and a 2 MP macro sensor)
Dual front camera array (32 MP wide primary, 8 MP 105-degrees ultra-wide for group shots)
90 Hz Fluid AMOLED Full HD display
If the product is as good as it looks, it will definitely rule the mid-tier segment.
