Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event 2020 was a jam-packed event full of Next-Generation Galaxy products. Amongst those is the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 which is named 3 and not Watch 2 to prevent any confusion from the pre-existing Galaxy Watch Active 2. The Galaxy Watch 3 is expected to be the worthy competitor to the Apple Watch and here to take the crown of the best smartwatch you can buy. PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
Like any top of the line product, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 doesn’t come for cheap. There are two variants of the watch 3 and it is priced starting at $399 (roughly Rs. 30,000) in the US for 41mm model, whereas the 45mm model will cost starting at $429 (roughly Rs. 32,100). The Galaxy Watch 3 will be available for purchase starting on August 6th.
The Galaxy Watch 3 boasts the best of the industry specs running the latest version of Tizen OS, i.e. Tizen OS 5.5, both the sizes – 41mm and 45mm have almost the same specs with some differences.
Both the models have Exynos 9110 SoC, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, IP68 water resistance and Bluetooth 5.0, LTE connectivity (in Bluetooth+LTE models) and the classic rotating bezel covering the Super AMOLED Display under Corning Gorilla Glass DX. The 41mm variant has a 247mAh battery while the 45mm variant has a 340 mAh battery. The 45mm version of the Galaxy Watch 3 has a 1.4-inch display, and a size of 45×46.2×11.1mm, while the 41mm version has a 1.2-inch display, and a size of 41×42.5×11.3mm. Both the variants also quite lightweight (41mm – 48.2g and 45mm – 53.8g) and come in stainless steel design.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 apart from being a stylish looking smartwatch also has a bunch of new and well-developed fitness and wellness features like ECG support, a new heart rate sensor and maintains the two buttons with a rotating bezel for controls.
With the newer model, there are more features like sleep/stress monitoring, heart rate and oxygen level tracking (Currently available only in Korea but awaiting approvals for other countries), Women health tracker, workout guide videos and a post-run coaching feature.
The Official Samsung Site shows that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 will be available in Mystic Black which is the special Titanium version (only for 45mm – available later this year), Mystic Silver and the new and Samsung Unpacked 2020 colour – Mystic Bronze (which is available only for 41mm variants)
