The pandemic has resulted in increasing popularity on OTT platforms. In order to fight off its competitors, Zee5 has come with a new yearly subscription plan on Monday called the Zee5 Club.
This plan allows the users to have access to 1000 movies, Zee Zindagi Shows, and over 90 Live TV channels without advertisements in Rs 365.
This came out as a counter to Hotstar’s Disney+Hotstar Vip plan that offers limited content priced at Rs 399/year. Zee5 Club is priced much lower than its own all-access yearly plan at Rs 999 or the monthly all-access plan at Rs 99.
Rahul Maroli, Senior Vice President and Head SVOD, Zee5, said in a statement that, “We are a customer-obsessed OTT platform and the launch of ZEE5 Club is a result of the feedback we received from our consumers.
Zee5 Club will help us to board every Indian and provide them with a hyper-personalized and a seamless content viewing experience at Rs 365 year”
The amount of content available to users on OTT platforms is massive and therefore choosing one platform to watch their favorite shows becomes tough as each platform tries to overshadow the other with new plans and exciting shows.
Zee5 is slowly rising through the ranks and this plan will definitely help in increasing the traffic on their platform. With Alt Balaji, they have managed to target a particular demographic, i.e. the youth between 18-30. They are coming up with teenage dramas and thrillers to make their platform more youth-friendly.
